中国での監視カメラ。 2019/2/25 Bloomberg によると、中国では2016年時点で約１億7600万台のビデオ監視カメラが設置されているそうである。米国は約5000万台。
中国のお客様に聞くと地方にもたくさんあるそうだ。嫌じゃないですか？と聞くと、悪人が悪いことできなくて良い。当たりやも強盗も減ったとのこと。確かに2018年1年でコンサート会場で犯罪容疑者や指名手配者が60人以上捕まった、彼らは捕まるかもと思ったが観に行きたい気持ちの方が強かった、という ニュースに苦笑してしまったけど。
でも自分がいつどこにいるかいつも把握されているんですよ！と問うと、中国ではPrivacyそんなに気にしないよ。窓もカーテンも開けっぱなしで道行く人に見られても気にしないと。
外国人に聞くと日本の良いところに治安の良さがベスト3に入る。Privacyを守りつつ安全も機能する日本が続くと良いのだが。

I heard Chinese customers there are so many surveillance cameras even in the region. I asked “You don’t like such a situation, do you?” Then they answered “It is good because bad guys don’t do bad things.” They said the numbers of hits and robberies has decreased. Certainly, in 2018, at the concert, more than 60 criminal suspects and wanted persons were caught, they thought they might get caught, but they wanted to see the concert!
But you always be watched where and when you are! They said they don’t really care about Privacy much in China. They don’t mind if people on the way see their house. So they open the windows and curtains.
When I ask foreigners, one of the best point in Japan is good security. I hole good security will continue to function while protecting privacy in Japan.
